The Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued this order after visiting a private hospital in Colombo and observing the suspect monk who is receiving treatment there.
The Magistrate also ordered that steps be taken to transfer the suspect monk to the Colombo National Hospital on medical recommendations.
The Prisons Department filed a motion with Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena requesting that the suspect monk be observed and given an appropriate order, and the OIC of the Nittambuwa Police was also summoned to court.
