US is obstructing a Middle East ceasefire agreement – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai says

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai has accused the US of severely obstructing efforts to reach a Middle East ceasefire agreement and making unreasonable demands.

The US continues to impose unfair conditions on Tehran. At the same time, Esmail Baghai has stated that Iran will present its response to a proposal related to US President Donald Trump’s initiative to permanently end the conflict in the Middle East through Pakistan.

Bagai said Iran demanded an end to the war and what he described as “maritime piracy” against Iranian vessels, a freeze on Iranian assets, guarantees for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and respect for its legitimate rights, including broader security in the region and northern Lebanon.

We made generous proposals not only for Iran’s interests, but also for the interests of the entire region. “All these issues were intended to be discussed in the proposed package,” Baghaei said. The proposals have been rejected by the US side.

After Trump rejected Tehran’s proposals, Baghaei stressed that regional security and stability have been undermined, Cyber World Press reported.

Answering a question about possible resumption of US strikes, Baghaei said that Iran is ready to defend its interests if necessary and will pursue diplomatic channels.
