At the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Busan, South Korea on July 25, the “Jingdezhen Handmade Porcelain Heritage” was officially added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It became the 61st World Heritage Site in China with its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The heritage site consists of five components, including the Porcelain Production Center in the Urban Area, the Hutian Ancient Porcelain Porcelain Site, and the Gaoling Kaolin Mining Site.

Raw Materials, Kiln Sites, and Early Qingbai Porcelain
Together, these sites provide a complete representation of the traditional porcelain production system in Jingdezhen , covering the entire process from the extraction and transportation of raw materials to the innovations in porcelain technology and mass production.
The heritage sites document the development of the handmade porcelain industry in Jingdezhen from the 10th to the 19th centuries, and demonstrate the profound influence of Chinese porcelain on technology, art, and global cultural exchange. Blue-and-white porcelain and its distinctive decorative patterns have also become important symbols that the world recognizes Chinese culture and craftsmanship.
