Pakistan’s ISI chief sentenced to 14 years in prison

Foreign media reports that the former head of Pakistan’s Intelligence Service Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hamid has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by a military court in the country.

It has been revealed that he has been sentenced to prison on charges of revealing state secrets and interfering in politics.

This is also the first time that a Pakistani intelligence chief has gone before a military court.

Faiz Hamid, who served as the head of Pakistan’s intelligence service during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government, was also known as a close associate of Imran Khan.

It is reported that Imran Khan retired from his post after being removed from the post of Prime Minister in a no-confidence motion in 2022. However, the military court has informed him that he has the right to seek a Supreme Court ruling against his verdict.
