Modi set to visit Israel for official visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Israel this month for bilateral talks on a range of areas including defence cooperation and counter-terrorism, foreign media reported.
India’s NDTV news service reported that India’s Ambassador to Israel Ryuwan Azhar expressed confidence that the visit would take place within February.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially invited the Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel, and is working to quickly arrange the visit, the Israeli embassy has said. India, which formally agreed to a free trade agreement with the European Union in early January, has also signed the first defense agreement between the two countries, and it has been revealed that the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Israel will focus on defense cooperation.
The agreement between India and the European Union has made India a comprehensive security and trade hub connecting the Indo-Pacific and West Asia, and Israel is aiming to strengthen ties with India for a strategic partnership, foreign media reports.
