
Pakistan’s Islamabad police have detained an Afghan journalist, Kama News Agency reported.
He is being held in connection with a decision to forcibly deport him, the Afghan National Newspaper reported. However, Islamabad police have not yet announced a specific reason for the Afghan journalist’s detention, nor have they disclosed any details.
The Islamabad police have also launched a search operation to forcibly deport unregistered Afghan migrants from Pakistan, and house searches are reportedly being conducted for this purpose, Kama News reported.
Several other Afghan journalists are also reportedly being detained under the operation. The detained journalists are being held in appalling conditions without any legal protection, Kama News reported.
