Indian Prime Minister vows to bring perpetrators behind Red Fort blast to justice

Prime Minister of India vowed to bring the perpetrators of the Red Fort blast to justice after the explosion killed eight and injured 20.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed that those behind the deadly Red Fort explosion in New Delhi will be identified and brought to justice.

Speaking during his visit to Bhutan, Modi said government agencies “will find the perpetrators of this conspiracy,” adding that no one involved will escape accountability.

The Monday evening blast at the historic Red Fort killed at least eight people and injured 20 others, according to police officials.

Indian media reported that the authorities are investigating the explosion under the country’s stringent anti-terror law, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Police said the explosion occurred when a slow-moving vehicle stopped at a red light near the fort and detonated just before 7 p.m., severely damaging nearby cars.

Security across the capital has been tightened, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) assisting Delhi Police in gathering forensic evidence and reviewing CCTV footage.

Analysts say the attack has raised new concerns about urban terrorism, prompting India to strengthen intelligence coordination and review security measures at major heritage and public sites.
