On the occasion of the New Year of 2026, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued a New Year greeting message through the Chinese media group and the Internet.
He noted that the passing year 2025 is the last year of China’s “14th Five-Year Plan”. The overall size of the Chinese economy has continuously reached a new high, and it is expected to reach 140 trillion Chinese yuan in 2025.
The Chinese President said that China is ready to embrace the world in a more open way, and is ready to work with other countries to ensure the peaceful development of the world and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, following the correct direction of history.
2026 is the starting year of China’s ’15th Five-Year Plan’. The Chinese President further said that China expects to achieve high-quality development by affirming its goals and objectives.
