The British government has imposed sanctions on a Russian media outlet and two Chinese companies suspected of spying, the AP reports.
The British government also issued a statement imposing the sanctions, saying that Western countries should take action against foreign countries that seek information from state institutions. British Foreign Secretary Waite Cooper said that the sanctions were imposed on two Chinese technology companies along with a Russian Telegram channel operating in Britain.
The companies have been accused of weakening critical infrastructure and disrupting democracy, and the British Foreign Secretary has further stated that such subversive actions aimed at undermining Western cooperation must be prevented.
