Strong earthquake hits Japan – Tsunami warning issued

A strong earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck the northeastern region of Japan this morning (12).
A tsunami warning has been issued as a result of the earthquake, which raised sea waves of up to 1 meter, according to foreign media.
The quake struck off the coast of Aomori Prefecture at around 11:44 a.m. local time at a depth of 20 kilometers (12 miles).
A strong earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale also struck the same region last Monday.
Following that earthquake, the government has issued special warnings to the public to be vigilant as another strong earthquake may occur in the area from northern Hokkaido to Chiba, east of Tokyo.
